Jambo! :) My safari life goes on :) Today has been awesome! Just awesome :D
So my day started at 5.30 when the hotel rooms telefon startet to ring. They were calling from the reception to control that we had woke up :D At 6 o'clock we had coffee and tea and 6.15 without eating any breakfast we went to the morning drive. It was so early cause it's sunrise at 6 and the animals start to wake up. It was a little bit chilly in the early morning (17 degrees) so I had a cardigan and jeans on me. We jumped in to the safaricars and the driver opened the roof so that we could stand up and see better. Actually you were not allowed to stand on the seats but we have such a nice driver so he didn't mind. He's name is Khan and he know everything about the animals. He's really cool and helpfull. So at the morning drive we saw a lot animals. Wild beasts, antilopes, elefants, hippos and lions the name a few. We saw also hundreds of different kind of birds like the crowned hornbill :) The colours were amazing, never seen birds like that before! :D And the zebras are so beautiful with black and white stripes and amazind eyes. I took a lot of pictures and I already have about 1 300 pictures on my first memory card. 1 800 is the limit and I have got to of them. So I need to erase some vad pictures so the I get room for new ones :D
Around 9.30 we got back to the lodge and at ten we had breakfast. It felt odd to eat breakfast that time cause we had already seen and done much. The breakfast was supreme as usual we all the same goods. I had Coco Pops, a plate full with ananas, orange, sweet melon and watermelon, juice, youghurt and a croissant :) Yummy! Honestly if I could count the amount of ananas I've eaten it would certainly be many kilograms :D It's so delecioys here!
After breakfast I changed to a fooral print dress, sandals and a big brim hat and we headed towarda a Masai village. It's one of the 42 tribes living in Kenya and they live very close to the nature. The road to the village was in very bad condition and it was a very bumpy ride, but it was worth it :)
First they performed a ancient dance ritual and then we went inside the village and one of the mans (probably a younger chief) told us about the lifevin the village and we could go and watch inside the houses made of mud and stone and ask questions. He told us that they were all together about 270 in the village and just 4 families. The masai men could have up to 8 wives and children with all of them! I can't belive it, If I would be married I certanly would want to be the only girl in the mans life! But that's the way it eorks there. We could also buy handmade Masai piece of jewerlies and support the village. I bought a key holder and granny a necklace. After that was time for the local school. They had two teachers and classes from grade 1-8. The grades had childrens from different ages you moved to the next hrade just when you were good enough. The students were so cute! They had blue school uniforms (otherwise Masais dress in red) and the sang to us and just smiled :) I had brought erasers, notebooks and pencils to them from Finland as a gift and the teacher was very thankfull :) The children were very curious and asked a lot of things of me and many pics were taken of me and them together. It was so hot, over 30 degrees! Then it was time to leave the village and say goodbye to the villagers. At time we got back to our hotel we had lunch. Again foodtime! It feels like we're eating all the time :D To one lunch or dinner there is always a soup, sallad, warm dish and dessert. And so many choices. I'm always so full at the time of dessert so I've just taken fruits :D But they are really delicious!
After lunch was a two hours rest time while I took a short nap and a shower. At 16 o'clock it was time to the eavning drive. You may wonder why eavning drive starts already at 16, but it's cause the sunset starts 19 and it's pitch dark at 19.30.
We saw a lot of animals again and a big group of elefants was in the water refreshing themselves :) There were baby elefants and they were so cut <3
Then we came back to the hotel and had dinner and then it was bedtie :)
But byyeee
Love Miranda
