Hello again :) Today has been good too, let me tell about it! :)
Granny woke me up at 7.30 and told me that I needed to be ready within an hour. So I brushed my teeth, dressed and packed my bags. At 8.30 I lifted the big soft bag outside our appartment and then took my brand new handbag with me and went down to eat breakfast. It was delicious as usual but I wasn't so hungry so I didn't eat that much.
When the clock turned 9 we jumped again in to our cars and left the Amboseli National Park for good. We headed for the West Tsavo National Park. After driving an hour we came to an other rock and wood carving shop, which this time had jewelrys and other items to offer. It's was a local shop so the money would go directly to the native people. But I just used the bathroom and did not buy anything.
An other hours drive on a very poor road and we came to a fantastic volcanic rock ground. It was huge and full with pretty recent lava stones. The area around them has very much active volcanoes and the lava that we saw had come from an eruption 100 years ago. It's a short time for volcanoes and so I took a few lava stones with me for a memory :)
Yet again an hours drive and we were in the West Tsavo. A couple of kilometres and we were at the Kilaguni Serena Safari Lodge. It is nice too, but the Amboseli Lodge was better. Now I sleep in the same room as my grandparents (what are allright) and it's not as good equipped as the last one. But here is a much better view over the national park. Just outside on the lodge on the background there is a drinking place, and a lot of animals gather there all the time. So that's very nice that you can follow almost all the time at some animals :)
At 13.00 we ate lunch (a little bit less choices, but fine anyway) and then we had leisure time until 16. When the time was 16 we went by cars to a hiking trail nearby in the park. We had a local guide with us called Peter, and he was really good on discovering hidden animals :) It was fun, but at the same time a little bit dangerous cause we were now in the hippo/crocodile zone. And yes we saw a crocodile! :D How cool is that?!? It was really hard to discover but fortunately we had our fantastic guide with us. It was only 3 meters away in the water and looked first like a stone. I got some really good pictures too :)
There was also a underwater room where you could go and follow the life under the surface through thick glass windows :)
At 6 o'clock we headed back to the lodge. I took a shower and 19.50 we had a dinner reservation. I didn't eat so much now either cause I'm never hungry when we are having a meal.. :D
At half past 8 I came back to our lodge room and did my night things and now I'm ready for sleep cause tomorrow my alarm will ring 5.30 :o :D
But you will hear more probably tomorrow soo until that ...
Love Miranda
